FAST MOLD - Fast Molding of micro optical components from inorganic glass

The development aims at the production of small individual lenses with a relatively large center thickness the manufacture of which using conventional technology has not been economical enough so far.
Utmost flexibility regarding sizes and shapes of the components with refractive and diffractive surfaces and of the microlens arrays to be produced is the target of the project.

This shall be demonstrated on components with diameters of 5 - 10 mm that bear potential for application in the fields of sensor technology, information technology and image transmission.

KUGLER is engaged in the topic of tool manufacture for the fast hot embossing of microoptical components with the tasks:

  • Development of machine tools for molding materials
  • Development of machining methods
  • Manufacture of molding tools.
